Mobile and Stationary Crushing and Screening Plant

Mobile and Stationary Crushing and Screening Plant

What is the Mobile Crushing and Screening Plant, and how does it work?

Crushing and screening plants are machines used to crush stones and pieces of rock into aggregates and convert these into a form that is usable.

Aggregate is the most fundamental material used in construction. It makes up about 90% of the asphalt material and about 80% of the concrete mix. It is also the basic building block for roads, bridges, and buildings. It takes about 28,000 tons of aggregates to build one km of intercity highways. Building an average house requires about 400 tons of aggregate, while an average-sized school or hospital requires about 15,000 tons of aggregate.

Aggregates are sand, crushed stone, and gravel mined from quarries. When mixed with binders such as water, cement, and bitumen, they become various composite products.

Aggregates must be dry and clean before use. The better they are processed, the better their quality is.

The plants used for aggregate material production, on the other hand, are produced as stationary and mobile. Mobile and fixed crushing and screening plants, or stone crushing plants, are facilities that produce aggregates in the required size for the construction industry. These facilities are produced with different features according to the type of material to be broken and the area where the facility will be established.

While stationary crushing and screening plants are stationary on a particular job site and suitable for long-term jobs, mobile crushing and screening plants are suitable for jobs that will be finished in a short period of time.

Since a single truck can carry mobile facilities to various areas of the business and install them in the field in a short period of time, stationary and mobile crushing and screening plants can be produced in different production capacities.

Mobile crushing and screening plants are largely employed in mines. In this respect, mostly sand, gravel, gravel and similar products are produced. To produce these materials, primary, secondary or tertiary crushers are also required. Thanks to these crushers, more easy and fast aggregate production is provided. Furthermore, the vibrating screens classify the products extracted from mobile crushing sieving according to different dimensions.

1. Jaw Crushers:

The jaw crusher is a type of primary crusher commonly used in both mobile and stationary crushing plants. They consist of a fixed jaw and a movable jaw that create a V-shaped cavity where rocks are compressed between the two surfaces. Jaw crushers efficiently work on various types of materials, including hard and abrasive rocks.

2. Impact Crushers:

Impact crusher is a versatile machine that can perform in both stationary and mobile crushing plants. Material is impacted by hammers fixed on a spinning rotor. It can process a large variety of materials from soft limestone to hard granite; it produces constant, high-quality cubical aggregates.

3. Cone Crushers:

They are generally found in stationary crushing plants. Cone crushers play an essential role in the secondary and tertiary stages of crushing. The materials get compressed between a moving mantle and a concave, producing a fine and uniform product. Cone crushers are quite good for ores, stones, and recycled concrete.

4. VSI Crushers (Vertical Shaft Impact Crushers):

Essentially, VSI crushers are used in stationary crushing installations intended for the purpose of producing cubically shaped aggregates. Material is accelerated through a rotor that is rotating at high speeds, hence the material collision with each other. VSI crushers are very effective in giving shape to the final product and are primarily used in the manufacturing of manufactured sand.

5. Screens:

It is an essential component in both mobile and stationary crushing and screening plants. The application of screens deals with the separation of the material on the basis of its size, hence classifying the aggregates. The screens may be either inclined or horizontal, comprising various screen media, depending on application, including scalping, sizing, and dewatering. Correct selection and proper care for the screen will assure an effective plant production along with quality finished products.

Making the Right Installation of Your Second-Hand Mobile Crushing and Screening Plant

The most important advantages of having a mobile crushing plant include the facility of moving it from one work area to another when needed. Its field of operation changes as the areas of the projects vary.

Proper setting up of the mobile crusher for its operation is not only important to get the right quantity of the product but also to minimize wear and tear on the parts of the primary, secondary, and tertiary crusher that the plant is fitted with. Therefore, due care must be exercised while choosing a location for installation and preparing it to start the operation.

A mobile plant should always be put on firm, level ground for correct installation and correct operation of the crusher plant at first time. Obviously, it is not to install the mobile crushing plant on fresh soil piles. The reason is that in operation, fresh soil will collapse and cannot support the mobile crushing plant to balance evenly.

The second step involves the space at the bottom for the conveyors. Hence, it will be required to raise the mobile crushing plant by placing a concrete block under each foot.

This is the stage in which the height of the mobile crushing plant is supposed to be measured with great care and the hydraulic feet accordingly adjusted. During this process, adjustment should take place in such a way that instead of keeping the hydraulic legs' feet on the hydraulics, they are supposed to be secured on the locking pins meant to be attached.

For leveling of a mobile crushing plant with a feeder or sieve, if possible, the leveling instrument should always be placed on them to get them correctly leveled. If feeders and screens run an unstable plane, oil can accumulate more on one side than the other, causing oil leaks, with high-side bearings and moving parts gaining an insufficient lubrication. This can result in wear and deformation for those parts not lubricated, while reducing the useful service life.
